Virtualization - Hardware

Hi Everyone,

 

We have a request for Virtualization of Performance test environment for different regions in our project.

 

Currently the environment is physical which is running on Unix os (Redhat Linux) with 2 web servers (6 GB RAM each), 4 app servers ( 96GB RAM each server) and 1 DB (128 GB RAM) with 10 & 32 Core CPU and performance testing is conducted only for one region.

 

Client want to expand the performance testing to conduct for different regions using one environment with application / solution / interfaces deployed for multiple countries on existing hardware.  They wants this to be elastic so that they can incorporate on demand resources whenever needed using virtualization technologies.

 

The reason behind is to reduce cost of RAM purchase and also reduce the cost on hardware to deploy solution for different regions.

 

I need your help / information on below points.

 

1)      Virtualization solution – that you have used in current project or past experience.

2)      Some recommendations on tools that you know to deploy in this kind of situation.

3)      Any documents / references that you could share with me so that it will be useful to prepare us solution report.
