We want to celebrate the best of British digital technology talent at a one day conference at the Royal Institution, 13th June 2014, and we'd love to see you there! You can buy tickets to attend or support in other ways via our Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/teamprime/best-of-british

Our conference is going to be a celebration of great British technology and technologists. Taking a countrywide approach we have invited guest speakers from around Britain to talk about what they know and what they do. We will also be live streaming the event so everyone who wants to can watch regardless of location.

Our format will be 30 min talks alternating with 10 minute talks to keep everyone awake and engaged.

CONFIRMED SPEAKERS SO FAR INCLUDE:

Alice Taylor, MakieLab
Chris Thorpe, I Can Make
Matthew Somerville, mySociety (& many other great things)
Mazz Mosley, freelance technologist
Ian Forrester, BBC R&D
Dan Fairs, SecondSync *just* been acquired by Twitter (woo, go Dan & the team!)
Amy Mather, MiniGirlGeek
Dr Tom Crick, Senior Lecturer in Computing Science, Cardiff
Metropolitan University
Priya Prakash, Founder, Design for Social Change
Gordon Hollingworth, chief engineer @ Raspberry Pi
Herb Kim, Founder & CEO of Thinking Digital Limited

We want to create a participatory event that allows those coming to ask questions during the talks (without derailing the schedule) via a web interface. We'll pick three questions for the speaker to answer at the end of their talk and all the rest (assuming they're not silly or rude) will be answered by the speakers IAMA style on the conference website afterwards.

Depending on the amount of money we raise, we've got plenty of other interactive experiences and fun planned for the day too. We want to put a smile on your face and blow your noodles with home-grown awesome.

This conference will have a Code of Conduct in place (http://confcodeofconduct.com/) which will be in place on the site when it goes up in the next week or two. By coming along to the conference you agree to being a decent and lovely human being, which I know all of you are :-)

Hope this is of interest and hope you don't mind me posting in your group :)
All the best,
