Owners: You might have noticed renewed
activity since this morning in regard to the construction of the North- South
wall by L&T. This is because the interim stay (ie, temporary injunction)
that the Save South City Group had obtained & which was in force during last
several months, was vacated yesterday evening by the City Civil Court, on the
grounds that only a few owners had filed the Suit. Although the Stay has been
vacated, the Suit has not been dismissed. In fact, the Judge has advised the
Plaintiffs that they should file a 'Representative' Suit involving a larger
number of apartment owners. For your information, SUGRUHA
has already filed a appeal with the Court to impled itself in the cases filed by
the Save South City Group against L&T and the landowner. This was to be
taken up for hearing today. However, since the Judge absent and is proceeding on
leave from tomorrow, the case has been posted for hearing on 30th
August. Meanwhile, the Save South City
Group has filed an Appeal in the High Court today praying for restoration of the
Stay, and this will come up for hearing tomorrow. Please therefore note that, in
the light of the vacation of the stay, we have done and are doing
everything possible to protect our rights in South City. A V Venkatesh Secretary
