The topic of foraging has come up a bit in various groups dedicate to native plant conservation, some consider it to be perhaps a conflict of interests. I thought that way for a while too, but have had a change of heart after practicing plant propagation for the sake of bringing more useful/edible plants close to home and reading books like Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. The Coastal Plains Outdoor School is now offering classes that explore the intersection between wild foods and plant conservation in an intensive hands on approach, making great use of invasive plants and encouraging propagation and ecological awareness. If you know of folks that might be interested, feel free to share the flyers attached. We're also offering plant identification classes for summer and winter. All in Lumberton, MS just across the border. Let me know if you have questions.
