Ladies and Gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure to announce the following:

The much awaited Worlds Debate selections will be held from the 23rd to 25th of November.

We have 2 debate slots and 9 adj slots. The tournament itself will happen in Chennai from 27th Dec to 4th Jan. Needless to say, this is our best chance to become the first ever Indian team to break at Worlds!

Oh and even if you think you may not bag the coveted Worlds team slots, you should still come and participate in the selections anyway. It'll be great exposure for any debater, novice or otherwise. The level of debate expected in the selection rounds will probably be higher than any domestic and even some international tournaments.

To cap it all, for judging the selections, we have the legendary Sharmila Parmanand coming down all the way from Philippines for those three days.  For the uninitiated, Sharmila has been adj core at WUDC, UADC and pretty much every other major tournament including NLS-D. She is also the only person to have won the Best Speaker award at UADC an astounding three times in consecutive years! For more details on her exploits google her or...ask our veteran debater Vipul Nanda. (:p)

Schedule:
13th November 11:59pm- Deadline for registration of teams and adjudicators for the Selections.

- ANYONE can register irrespective of Univ rank, experience or any other criteria as long as you register in TEAMS OF TWO. Just send a mail to lnd....@gmail.com.
- You just need to tell us as of now IF you'll like to adj in case you don't make the team. This is only to figure out demand.

23rd November (Saturday)- Practice Debates + Training sessions. OPEN TO ALL. Starts 1:30pm onwards.
24th November (Sunday)- Selection rounds.
25th November (Monday)- Selection rounds/ practice rounds/ training session. Starts at 11am. (Keep attendance handy)

Note:
- The Schedule for selection rounds (i.e. the number of rounds required) is tentative as it will depend upon number of registrations.
- Our team cap for selections is 12. In case we have an overwhelming response, we may have to hold a few knockout qualifier rounds before the actual selections. In which case, we'll release details for that after the deadline.
- LAST LAST day of project submission is 24th November so be mindful of that.
- Adj Test details will be released later.

This is the first time in LnD history that preparations for an international tournament is seeing investment at this massive scale, equally in terms of effort,  time and money. We are really happy to see the interest shown so far by a large group of committed debaters in college. We hope for an enthusiastic response.

Contact me (on 09620319228) or Nayan (09663370402) for more details/clarifications.

Register away!

Hey.
I'm really sorry but that won't be possible at Sharmila is leaving at 4pm on 25th. So, we can have one, maybe two, rounds on that day.
The selections need atleast 4 rounds per team.

However, you are more than welcome to do some round/s on 25th as practice.

Sorry!

Ps: Which is why I'm back 23rd night :p
