Just got this email regarding a veterans issue with mask mandates in MN.
They are apparently being forced to wear masks 24/7 there despite being
vaccinated and in good health.

I dont know what we can do, other than spread awareness, but a member is
asking.

I have deleted his email address from the public list for privacy reasons

I sent this e-mail to the state of Minnesota LP for help in getting the
wearing of masks in the Home 24/7. We all have had our shots, are middle
aged and of good health. But we are being pumped with the other Homes that
are Medical with underlining condtions. I e-mailed the White House & CDC
plus NIH to assure the state it's ok to unmask our Home. It's funny but we
can take off our masks for outings,but back on later on. Hope you can
e-.mail or call anyone at the National level in DC. Thank you. John A.

Would that fall under the Veterans Affairs Department?

That would be something The Minnesota LP could petition and I am sure the
LNC could sign off on it if requested.

Since it is a Federal issue it would need to come from the top
unfortunately.

We’d have to know who runs this home and sets policy. The zero tolerance
for risk (which is in fact usually just some bandaid measure they refuse to
give up on like masking) sort of thing is super frustrating and nearly
impossible to fight. The way that people already at high stress levels are
kept even more on edge, adding one more straw to the camel’s back, is
horrible.

I wonder if we could ask someone to look into this and (1) see the bigger
picture, (2) help these guys, and (3) write something about it. I have in
mind a member - many of you may also have him in mind but it’s probably
best not to call him out publicly on this list. I will contact him.
