Subject: Improper Meddling and Coercion in R1; Alert to State Chairs

Dear Members of the Libertarian Party,
Mr. Austin Martin and I have the unfortunate duty to report a concerning series of events involving apparent coercion by members of the Libertarian National Committee against a state chair by threatening to withhold necessary legal support. This appears to prioritize personal benefit over the interests of the LP.
We have received extensive feedback from state chairs in our region regarding inappropriate interference in regional affairs. This includes efforts to remove Mr. Martin and myself from the LNC during our ongoing whistleblower investigations into potential misconduct by Steven Nekhaila, Paul Darr, William Redpath, Jonathan McGee, Meredith Hayes, Kathy Yeniscavich, Adrian Malagon, Oliver Hall, and possibly other LNC members.
Key Events:
  • On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Oliver Hall notified the LNC that he would no longer represent our New Mexico affiliate in proposed ballot access litigation, citing involvement by Mr. Martin and myself. See Image1.
  • However, evidence indicates Mr. Hall subsequently communicated with Mr. Dereck Scott, Chair of the recognized New Mexico affiliate, suggesting that the pro bono representation offer could proceed if Mr. Martin and I are removed from the LNC. Mr. Nekhaila cited direct communication with Mr. Hall to demonstrate his willingness.  See Image2, extract from “Nekhaila Darr Scott Email.pdf”.
  • In parallel, despite Mr. Hall’s indication that litigation was still “worth pursuing” (See Image1), the LNC majority changed its vote to oppose joining litigation in support of New Mexico, seemingly leveraging their support to secure our removal.
Mr. Scott provided copies of an email exchange (attached as “Nekhaila Darr Scott Email.pdf”) showing Paul Darr and Steven Nekhaila reinforced that the LNC would only support the New Mexico affiliate via legal action if Mr. Martin and myself are removed from the LNC.  See Image2 and Image3, extracts from “Nekhaila Darr Scott Email.pdf”.
Darr’s email in Image3 is the direct follow up to Mr. Scott's question, which occurred after prior accompanying phone conversations:
"All I know is that [Martin and Chadderdon] were fighting for me and our interests, but my State's needs [are] more important. I know there are political problems on boards, I know from experience. Will the LNC help defend the LP brand in New Mexico if we change our regional 1 representation? I really have no choice, I guess? I have just been begging for help for almost 3 years."
An additional email thread from Mr. Scott (attached as “Scott Duress Email.pdf”) directly communicates his concerns about this leverage to Mr. Martin and myself, and it is even more alarming. See Image4.
Concurrently, communications from Wisconsin LP board member, Tyler Danke, suggest he was informed of these details shortly after Mr. Hall's withdrawal notification—details impossible to be known without LNC involvement. Mr. Danke ran for the Region 1 representative role and lost the election to Mr. Martin.  See Image5 and Image6.
Paul Darr, in particular, has contacted several chairs in the region to pressure them for removal, falsely claiming that Mr. Martin and I are working against Mr. Scott and New Mexico. Multiple chairs have confirmed receiving similar messages. See Image7.
This follows a pattern of documented interference, including unauthorized removal of email access, significantly timed joint maneuvers by Chris Luchini’s imposter LP with the Democratic Party (See Image8), and secret meetings with opposing parties in legal matters.
I provide this Google Drive link to allow us to publish additional evidence on these and related matters, in case our access to LNC systems is illegitimately revoked, as has been done previously.

Dear Members of the Libertarian Party,

It is important to clarify the situation regarding recent claims made by Mr. Chadderdon and Mr. Martin.

The loss of pro bono legal representation for New Mexico did not come from any decision by the Chair, Vice Chair, or other members of the LNC. It came directly as a result of the conduct of Mr. Chadderdon and Mr. Martin, whose harassment of our legal counsel made it impossible for him to continue offering pro bono assistance. That harassment has not only been documented, it persists to this day.

To be perfectly clear: they alone are responsible for the withdrawal of pro bono support. Their repeated attempts to blame others for the consequences of their own actions is misleading and damaging to the Party.

As for their other claims:

Alleged “coercion” of a state chair: What has been presented is a gross distortion. No one on this board has threatened any state chair, nor conditioned LNC support on the removal of representatives. This is conspiracy theory masquerading as evidence.

“Secret negotiations” and “collusion”: These claims have been recycled repeatedly without proof. Legal counsel and Party leadership have engaged in the standard communications necessary to protect the Party’s legal position, nothing more.

“Removal of email access” and other supposed retaliation: Administrative measures were taken to protect Party staff and systems from ongoing abuse, while ensuring Mr. Martin still received all official notices and retained his rights to participate in meetings and cast votes. No one was denied their fundamental rights as LNC members. The privilege was restored but the return to decorum was short lived.

Alleged interference in regional affairs: Outreach to state chairs is part of the normal course of communication. What Mr. Chadderdon and Mr. Martin describe as “pressure” is in fact colleagues sharing concerns about the dysfunction they themselves have caused.

The pattern is clear: accusations are endlessly repeated, evidence is distorted or manufactured, and the Party’s staff, counsel, and volunteers are dragged into constant harassment campaigns. This is destructive behavior that undermines our credibility and drains the resources of the Libertarian Party. At this point it has turned into an emotional vendetta by Mr. Martin and Mr. Chadderon against a large swath of the board, and they must delight in it.

What Mr. Martin and Mr. Chadderdon are conducting is not oversight, but a self-important personal crusade. They have unilaterally styled themselves as “whistleblowers,” while ignoring the fact that oversight and investigations require board approval. Their efforts are not sanctioned, not official, and not credible.

Our members deserve honesty and professionalism. Instead, they are being subjected to a political spectacle. I urge everyone reading these messages to recognize the source of the dysfunction and not allow our Party’s work to be derailed by false narratives.

Sincerely,

Steven Nekhaila

Chairman, LNC

Steven, your dishonest attempt to respond without including the rest of the LNC in copy and only send to the public list has not gone unnoticed.

My claims on my email are supported by extensive receipts.

It is going to take you more effort than a few ChatGPT-authored denial emails to weasel your way out of this.

The members of this party are smarter than to "not believe their lying eyes".

You are exposed.

Mr. Chadderdon,

Your email to me did not include the full LNC, nor the list, which was BCC’d, I responded in kind.

I understand that self-awareness is a plant that doesn't grow in everyone's garden.

Regardless, I would expect you to take at least some time to self-reflect on the fact that your actions and the actions of Mr. Martin has lost NM its probono legal support.

I do not understand what your endgame is here, but if it is to punish Region 1 with the consequences of your own actions you sure are winning.

Your receipts fall in line with everything I am saying, your exposé is illuminating to your own actions but I’m not sure what else.

I have attached an image to illustrate, please see figure 1.

Steven Nekhaila
