Dear Members of the Libertarian National Committee,
I am writing to address a severe optical, ideological, and legal conflict rapidly materializing within our party’s leadership and influential operational networks. My intent is not to attack individuals; therefore, I have redacted the names and sensitive details to keep the focus on issues, not personalities and factions.
Let me be absolutely clear: navigating the modern economy is difficult. There is a profound difference between a libertarian working as a postal carrier, utilizing disability benefits, or holding a standard civil service job, and an individual whose livelihood is directly tethered to the military-industrial complex. Drawing a paycheck from the state to survive is one thing; architecting the warfare and surveillance state is another entirely.
A highly concerning pattern has emerged. A specific network of individuals is actively collaborating to reshape the Libertarian Party's architecture and dilute our foundational non-interventionist principles. The momentum and infrastructure fueling this network — operating largely through the "LP Alliance" (LPA), intersect heavily with the Chase Oliver campaign ecosystem, Project Liberal, and the competing Liberal Party USA [6].
However, the concern escalates beyond mere factional politics. Internal communications have explicitly documented that the LP Alliance operates as a domestic vehicle for the International Alliance of Libertarian Parties (IALP) [6]. The IALP network is currently entwined with foreign political principals, including high-level operatives working for France's governing Renaissance party and explicitly pro-NATO, interventionist factions in Georgia (UNM and Girchi - More Freedom). Organizing U.S. political activity in coordination with foreign political parties without proper disclosure creates immense legal vulnerability under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) [1].
Alarmingly, the key domestic figures aligned with this unregistered foreign-aligned network are overwhelmingly tied to the U.S. defense sector. This cross-contamination of federal defense contracting and foreign political influence presents a profound national security and legal liability.
A review of public federal records and internal network ties highlights the following:
We cannot effectively message a platform of non-interventionism when individuals steering the party’s direction are dependent on the continuation of defense spending, nor can we ignore the severe compliance risks of defense contractors collaborating with an unregistered foreign political network.
I am formally requesting that the LNC consider drafting and adopting a Leadership Transparency Resolution that requires all LNC members, officers, and key committee members to publicly disclose:
Our members deserve to know if the network leading the charge to reshape the party is secretly funded by the military-industrial complex and influenced by foreign principals. I look forward to your response and a public discussion on this matter at the next LNC meeting.
In Liberty,
Austin Martin
