Seeing this,  I have to wonder if we are walking into a cycle where there will be an excom meeting every 48 hours until sometime in late June?

With motions similar to the one the excom voted on last night every single time?

At what point do we begin to consider whether it is proper to create a situation that allows for numerous repeated bites at the apple aimed at a singular result?

I will add if helpful, per S 1.02.7(4) there is a standing rule that a majority of EC members can request cancellation of an EC meeting up to the time of the meeting.

"However, the call of an electronic meeting can be canceled if a majority of the committee members email a cancellation request to the entire committee prior to the scheduled time of the meeting."

To clarify - In this case this only applies to the EC members for an EC meeting and LNC members cannot request cancellation for a meeting they are not voting members in.

Mr. Shaw,

I share your frustration, but that is the nature of litigation. And being a Chair that wants to ensure the board is fully informed and heard on these matters, I feel it is my duty to call these meetings and not to take unilateral action. I can envision a situation where in other potential litigation there would be calls for the same treatment.

I would also point out that not every decision on litigation matters needs to come to the EC/LNC for debate and action, but in these circumstances, I hold it as the appropriate action. One way or another, I believe the matter will not need such meetings next week.

This is an urgent matter with litigation coming up on Monday.

As you know, the initial meeting was called because there was an offer from the Libertarian Party of New Mexico, and the second because there was a substantive update to that offer.

While I didn't want to spend my birthday evening in a meeting where I couldn't even vote, it is a serious matter that legitimately warranted an executive committee meeting. It wasn't just some frivolous matter.

Yes, it's been an abnormally busy week - I do not think the solution to that is to just cancel meetings when there's a valid need.
