Yes, building on our prior discussion, I'd like to refine this idea further with detailed citations to previous LNC precedents exemplifying the majesty of ballot access, and calling for the imposition of fines on anyone who questions ballot doctrines, and a motion to make Bill Redpath the hereditary King of the Ballot Access Committee in perpetuity.

Ladies and gentlemen, let us finally turn our attention to the true engine of Libertarian progress: censure. Because while some naïve souls still cling to the quaint fantasy that electoral success or public outreach might matter, we, the enlightened, understand that the real work of this organization is preserving the sacred ritual of ballot access theater.

After all, year after year, nothing says “we’re making a difference” quite like securing ballot access, doing absolutely nothing with it, and then celebrating as though we’ve captured Rome. Why upgrade strategy, improve messaging, or cultivate viable candidates when we can instead invest all our organizational momentum into ensuring that—should we ever accidentally become relevant—we will at least already be printed neatly on the ballot?

And in this grand tradition, the censure of Ben Weir becomes not merely appropriate, but essential. Because if we fail to punish deviations from the official catechism of ballot-access preservation, we might accidentally imply that the Party has broader goals than maintaining its eligibility to lose elections. That would be chaos.

By calling for Ohio to refrain from running a gubernatorial candidate, Weir gravely threatened our most cherished accomplishment: appearing. Not winning, not persuading, not governing—just appearing. And if we cannot defend our right to symbolically appear on a ballot we will never meaningfully impact, then what, truly, is left of this organization?

Therefore, supporting this censure is not only prudent; it is the highest expression of our strategic vision. Because while engaging voters, building coalitions, or crafting policy might distract us from the purity of procedural maintenance, a formal rebuke keeps us centered on what really matters: enforcing strict compliance with a system that has never produced success, but which we must nonetheless protect with the reverence of a religious relic.

In short:
If we cannot censure someone for threatening our ongoing tradition of elegant futility, then what are we even doing here?

If you want it even more cutting—more serious, more bureaucratic, or more ecclesiastically solemn—I can refine it.

Obviously, I'm an alt and my thoughts are unimportant, but I found this hilarious.

We need to focus on Liberty outcomes, not just ballot access.

That means we need to be free to make deals, and exercise political power.

However, it's fairly easy to see the difference between making deals (even distasteful ones) to advance liberty, versus selling us out.

The sellouts will do anything to convince you they aren't the sellouts... But it should be obvious.

The question boils down to what we get out of it.

Subject: Resolution to Censure Ben Weir, Region 6 Alternate

WHEREAS, Ben Weir, the Alternate Representative for Region 6 on the Libertarian National Committee (LNC), circulated a public communication (the "Statement") calling for the censure of the Libertarian Party of Ohio (LPO) for nominating a candidate for Governor of Ohio;

WHEREAS, the LPO's action of nominating candidates for office is a core function of an affiliate party and is essential for maintaining ballot access for the Libertarian Party in the State of Ohio;

WHEREAS, the State of Ohio has specific ballot access requirements which often necessitate running candidates in state-wide offices to ensure the Libertarian Party's name appears on the general election ballot in future cycles;

WHEREAS, the Statement advocates for the cessation of running a gubernatorial candidate by the LPO and instead supports a non-Libertarian candidate, which directly undermines the LPO's ability to meet ballot access thresholds and potentially jeopardizes the presence of the Libertarian Party on the ballot in Ohio;

WHEREAS, a primary fiduciary duty of an LNC member is to promote and protect the interests of the Libertarian Party, including safeguarding the ballot access of its state affiliates;

WHEREAS, the Statement, by advocating for actions that would directly harm the Libertarian Party's ballot access in Ohio, demonstrates a clear failure to uphold this fundamental fiduciary duty and acts against the best interests of the Party;

WHEREAS, the LNC must set a clear standard that its members are obligated to support the operational integrity of its affiliates and the strategic necessity of ballot access, and that advocating for actions detrimental to these interests is unacceptable;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Libertarian National Committee officially censures Ben Weir, Region 6 Alternate, for:

Violating his fiduciary duty to the Libertarian National Committee and the broader Libertarian Party by publicly advocating for an action (the withdrawal of a Libertarian gubernatorial candidate) that would foreseeably and severely damage the Libertarian Party's ballot access status in the State of Ohio.

Engaging in conduct that undermines the core function and operational integrity of a state affiliate (the Libertarian Party of Ohio) and is fundamentally detrimental to the Libertarian Party's strategic goal of securing and maintaining ballot presence across the United States.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Ben Weir is hereby directed to retract the Statement and issue a public clarification affirming his support for the LPO's efforts to maintain ballot access through the nomination of candidates.

Want me to make it dumber or is this good enough?
