A point of clarification Mr Secretary: the monthly online meetings are considered special meetings, I believe, but you have described it as a regular meeting. Can you confirm that my understanding is correct per the policy manual?

Mr. Chadderdon,
After reviewing the current LNC Policy Manual, you are correct.
The absurdity of a regularly occurring meeting being considered a special meeting under Section 1.02-7.8 is something we should address at some point. In any other organization (where the Bylaws, RONR, and Policy Manuals haven't been weaponized or tweaked to
death) would consider a special meeting as one called for a specific limited purpose and not a regularly schedule online meeting held to conduct the regular and ordinary business of the body.
That being said... I will adjust the title in Zoom and in additional notice emails about this upcoming Special Meeting on Sunday, August 10th, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. EDT.

I would like to provide notice of a vote to fill a vacancy on the Candidate Support Committee.
If we only have one nominee we can do the vote that night or push to Opavote if there are more nominees.
I would also like to provide notice of a vote to set the date for the 2028 convention.
Dates under consideration are February 18-21, 2028 and May 26-29, 2028.
I'm trying to light a fire under states to get back to Pat because we need this decided ASAP.
I would like to give notice of setting the date and location for the next in-person LNC meeting. I move that it be held December 6–7 in Dallas, Texas.

Thank you for your question.
For the Candidate Support Committee, this is a position that must be filled by a current member of the LNC, as required by the Policy Manual. The appointment must also be made by the full LNC. I’ve spoken with a few members, and Greg Hertzsch has expressed
a willingness to accept a nomination. However, I have not yet had the opportunity to reach out to the entire committee. Please note that all other recent vacancies on this committee were filled by the Chair based on recommendations from the committee itself,
as required by the Policy Manual.
Regarding the Bylaws Committee, this vacancy is open to all Party members, with a cap on the number of LNC members that does not apply to this particular vote. As the current Chair of the Bylaws Committee, I’ve received one expression of interest so far—Tyler
Danke—and I intend to nominate him. I also welcome any additional nominations that other board members may wish to bring forward.
