Subject: Fw: Transmission of the LPME Resolution on Affiliate Autonomy and Procedural Due Process

Greetings.

The Affiliate in Maine sent this Resolution to the LNC, addressed to the entire LNC, the LNC Secretary,  and the LNC Chair.

Additionally, the ME chair sent me a communication requesting it be displayed on the public list for all to see.

This makes 3 resolutions so far on this topic.

Thank you.

Subject: Transmission of the LPME Resolution on Affiliate Autonomy and Procedural Due Process

Dear Mr. Chair, Mr. Secretary, and Members of the Libertarian National Committee,

Pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Executive Committee of the Libertarian Party of Maine on June 10, 2026, I am transmitting the attached Resolution titled “Affirming Affiliate Autonomy and Procedural Due Process” for your review and consideration.

This resolution articulates LPME’s position on the autonomy of state affiliates, the importance of clearly defined authority under Party bylaws, and the need for transparent, consistent procedures in affiliate disciplinary matters. It does not address the merits of any specific dispute or pending appeal.

Instead, it highlights our shared interest in preserving a healthy, long-term institutional relationship between the national Party and its affiliates, and recommends clearly articulated standards for affiliate discipline and related enforcement actions.

Consistent with Section 5 of the resolution, please find attached the full text as adopted by the Executive Committee of the Libertarian Party of Maine.

We respectfully request that the LNC review the resolution and give due consideration to its recommendations.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
