I voted on all the opavote ballots sent to me, Mr. Secretary. Yet this one doesn't have my vote.

Why not?

Mr. Martin,

If you review the livestream of the July 5, 2026, LNC Meeting, you will find that Chair McMahon instructed me to divide the Audit Committee election into two separate ballots. One for the LNC member of the Audit committee, and one for the two non-LNC members of the Audit Committee.  I even sent out reminder emails with valid links for all ballots on Thursday. Do me a favor and check your inbox again, but if your email address is austin...@lp.org, I have conclusive records that you were sent voting links multiple times via opavote.  Mind you, you aren't the only one that apparently was confused, Mr. Nekhaila made the same mistake you did. That's the reason he didn't cast a vote on the LNC-member Audit Committee ballot. I can bring things to your attention, but I can't make you vote.

Jonathan McGee
Secretary, Libertarian National Committee

That's just the thing, Mr. McGee — I distinctly recall successfully casting a vote for the audit committee.

I cannot explain it; it is what it is.

I worded that poorly: I should have said "I distinctly recall successfully casting a vote for the Non-LNC audit committee."

Mahalo for your understanding.

Mr. Martin,

As the vote currently stands, your vote would not have changed anything unless you voted for Angela Thornton.

Your Alternate, Ms. Feintech, declined to participate in any of these ballots.  And quite frankly, I'm disappointed in the lack of participation by most of the alternates in these elections.

In the future, I will be sure to take special care to verify that you have successfully submitted a ballot.  In the future, would you be opposed to me sending daily emails until I can confirm that your vote has been received?

In Liberty,

Jonathan McGee
Secretary, Libertarian National Committee

Mr. Secretary,

Pardon me but I don't remember you voting in favor of alt participation in recent motions brought to the LNC. I deferred to my Region Rep on these votes and I will say it is strange his vote in this matter doesn't seem to be accounted for.
Voting to disenfranchise alternates and then disparaging them within a few weeks of each other is quite unappealing and not impressive. I suggest you consider your own vote history before throwing stones in glass houses.

Thank you for your consideration to this matter,

Sonja Feintech
LNC Region 1 Alt

Good morning,

Having been a regional alt last term, I would suggest that all regional alternates vote on Opavote ballots. Of course, check with your main rep and/or state Chairs, per the various regional agreements, of course.

You never know when your regional rep will not vote, intentionally or not, and you can't just read an email thread for Opavote ballots to know for sure.

If you both vote, then there's no harm done - that's just a little more work for the secretary, and we all enjoy making his job harder.
But if your rep fails to vote, then you've just done your job as a backup.

Respectfully,

Mr. McGee mentioned that Mr. Martin's vote would not have mattered unless he'd voted for Angela, so it sounds like she lost by one vote.
