Mr Chair,

You previously announced proudly "Mr. Malagon is a crucial part of my vision as Chair and the work needed to see this vision through. I would like to have him on the board."

We have seen what that vision has looked like over the past nearly 6 months.  It has been plagued with near nothing except for using the policy manual to attack other board members, kill our resources going to things like CRM and candidate support, cut other important programs, only so that those resources could be devoted simply to asking for money.

We have seen that your approach is a failure.  It turns out that when you cut all the programs that people draw value from, the money doesnt just start to flow in. Since your tenure began, our monthly revenue has become alarmingly small, and you have directed all energy to internal politics and policy manual revisions. The unnecessary bureaucracy that has been created by the huge number of policy manual revisions have hindered staff while providing little to no upside.

The SIC report that this board rammed through under your leadership is an utter travesty.  It is fraught with self-contradictions, unsupported conclusions and withheld context.  The board even adopted a motion which the report explicitly states would be a poor use of party resources.  What do our donors think when they read the SIC report and see this board opt for the course that the report states specifically is wasting their money?

There are now credible allegations that our audit contains manipulated and intentionally misleading data. Did you even look at it before it was noticed? Did you talk to staff about it?

Did you talk to Ms. Mason about the myriad disastrous policies Mr. Malagon proposed, and that you supported? We spent an enormous amount of money on a consultant, and you have failed to follow her advice.

You have shown a complete and total failure of leadership.  You proudly endorsed Adrian Malagon and then proceeded to let him work you like a puppet for the entirety of your tenure.  You have stood by as he has run roughshod over the rest of the LNC constantly for months (and staff via his horrible policies), culminating on Sunday with egregious violations of basic member rights of the board, even including myself and Mr. Martin completely illegally being thrown out of the meeting.  I understand you then went on an LNC After Dark Livestream and chuckled about it with Adrian.  He spent the stream trying to sidestep the shame he felt over losing the secretary election that then drove him to resign in exactly the same manner as he operated on this board, both before and after you promoted him, as a disgrace to this party.

Yourself and Mr Darr seem to have formed an unholy alliance with him of a sort that, and for reasons I'm sure few can likely ever fathom, you both supported him endlessly through Sunday's entire meeting.  Even as he was committing gross acts of parliamentary misconduct in the meeting, you both stood by him to the very end.  Mr. Darr even went so far as to risk both remaining candidates in the race being NOTA'd. He risked Mr McMahon, clearly the best candidate remaining in play, being permanently disqualified from holding the position this term.  Both of you specifically, deliberately, and repeatedly chose to put electing Adrian Malagon as secretary ahead of a functional and operational board.  You have shown where your priorities lie.

And after all, in your own words, a crucial part of your vision for chair has now resigned and is no longer able to help with the critical work that you sought to do.

And even after of this, you seem now to be pushing forward a near identical scheme so that you can try to force through another politically motivated election even as several of your allies resign around you.

As I said before, we can do better Mr Chair!

Mr. Chadderdon,
While monologues are in vogue, I will keep this succinct.
This term has brought us to the realities we now face. The financial problems are real, which is why we launched an urgent operation to stop the bleed, an effort born from findings in the SIC report (whether or not you acknowledge them) and from a historic lack of focus on membership growth until recently.
Contrary to your claim that I have simply cut, we have invested; building the groundwork for Archimedes 2.0, adding additional staff, and cutting only what was not yielding results. Ironically, many of the policies you now deride as proposed by Mr. Malagon were supported as best practices by Ms. Mason herself.
I will not pretend Mr. Malagon and I agreed on everything, nor do I endorse all of his methods. But I will acknowledge the value he did bring in other areas. He has now resigned; our financial situation, however, has not.
If your main point is that we can and must do better, then I agree. If you have actionable proposals, on revenue, on growth, on outreach, I will listen and collaborate in whatever capacity I can.
I would like to see the Libertarian Party become a true centrifugal force for liberty in the United States and beyond. That requires us not only to debate but to build. I have already taken up Mr. Martin’s offer to collaborate constructively in a spirit of progress, and I extend the same to you.
Sincerely,
Steven Nekhaila
Chairman, LNC
