Mr. Chair,

Roughly two weeks ago, the Secretary published the results of the OpaVote ballots for the various committees we voted on.

During our May or June special meeting, you noted to the Secretary that he is to share vote results and you are to declare the results of those elections or questions.

Would you mind declaring the results and membership of those committees and formalizing their formations?

Respectfully,

Colleagues,

I have received a few private messages stating that the secretary shared the results previously. I fully understand that. However, the Secretary is not the Chair and does not declare election and ballot results according to our governing documents.

According to Roberts at 47:7(4), declaring the results of a ballot is the responsibility of the presiding officer: "To state and to put to vote all questions that legitimately come before the assembly as motions or that otherwise arise in the course of proceedings (except questions that relate to the presiding officer himself in the manner noted below), and to announce the result of each vote..."

Also, 45:39 states, "...In balloting on a motion, the chair announces the result."

I believe the Chair is aware of this requirement because he verbally mentioned it directly to the Secretary during one of our first meetings.

While the Secretary shared the ballots and reported those ballots to us two weeks ago, the chair has yet to formally announce the results according to our rules.

I renew my request.

Respectfully,

Richard Longstreth

Mr. Chair,

To follow up on my previously unanswered emails (below), members of the Affiliate Support Committee have expressed interest in organizing and beginning work promptly and have stated that it hasn't been easy getting the group organized to this point.

Upon formal declaration of the vote results, will you be designating interim chairs for these committees (audit and ASC), or is there some other method by which an interim chair is being named?

Respectfully,

Richard Longstreth
