The Tellers are the major part of backbone of every national convention, because the work we do makes sure the convention business runs as smoothly and as cleanly as possible. That means that every election is efficient yet accurate and beyond scrutiny, every
counted floor vote is counted correctly, and auxiliary paperwork is handled properly. Our mission is simple: run the cleanest elections of any political organization in the country, from before the convention starts through its end.
That’s only possible with a Teller Team. The Tellers handle delegation packets, both distributing and receiving, tallying the delegation vote totals, counting floor votes when they come up, and handling nomination paperwork, motion forms, Platform token tabulations,
and of course the setup and teardown of the Tellers’ Pit on the convention floor. Over the last three conventions the processes have been refined and improved, and 2026 will be no exception.
We need about 14-16 volunteers for the Teller Team, and training is provided, closer to convention time in 2026. Last convention we took our efficiency to new levels while records were set for voting rounds. We don’t expect Grand Rapids to be that intense,
but we’ll be prepared for it.
Contact Mike Seebeck at the email below to volunteer. Volunteers would need to have their own laptops, preferably running Windows, to be able to access the tally spreadsheets. Being a national convention delegate is not required, but it is recommended.
Thank you!
