We have an LNC email ballot.  Votes are due to the LNC List on this email thread by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on September 19, 2025.

Motion: 

Whereas, the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire has published posts on social media depicting a Jewish person piloting a plane in connection to the September 11 attacks, and the use of homophobic slurs, which reasonable people would consider antisemitic and bigoted;

Whereas, this behavior diminishes the Libertarian Party's image on the national stage, damaging not only our reputation but also our ability to grow;

Whereas, a previous attempt to censure was dismissed, yet the pattern of behavior has only escalated;

Be it therefore resolved, that the Libertarian National Committee censures the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire for its despicable conduct, and invites them to disaffiliate and cease its use of the Libertarian Party name so as to allow another group more in line with the values of this Party to petition for affiliation.

I rise in support of the motion to censure LP New Hampshire. While the stated basis for the motion is specific messaging, my reasoning is more pragmatic.

Our candidates across the country have been accused of being associated with or endorsing the tweets coming out of LP New Hampshire. This places them in a position where they must constantly defend themselves against words they did not write and views they do not share. By issuing an official censure, we provide those candidates with a clear tool to show the public, the press, and their opponents that the Libertarian National Committee does not stand behind those statements.

This censure allows them to distance themselves from the affiliate’s conduct, to preserve their reputations, and to focus on advancing liberty in their campaigns. At the same time, it affirms that the national party holds itself and its affiliates to a higher standard in messaging.

For those reasons, I vote Aye.

If that's your "pragmatic" reason, you should do LP Louisiana next. (Which I wouldn't support either.) Many Libertarian candidates have lost votes and have had to answer for their ridiculous woke messaging. I personally lost votes in the 2022 election because of these abortion apologists and furry lovers.

You aren't doing right by our membership by bending the knee to these communist infiltrators. The LNC should respect affiliate autonomy. Including LPNH. Including LPLA. Stand up for what is right. Being pragmatic with people who hate you won't work.

Aloha! 

It is right to engage with and denounce some of the offensive messaging from LPNH. I want to start by clarifying that I support proactively dealing with and distancing ourselves from irresponsible messaging. 

However, the way in which it is being done is wrong; it undermines our credibility as libertarians — as the defenders of free speech. 

This motion is aimed at widening the cracks of division, not healing them. It’s aimed at appeasing the radical, morally bankrupt, antifa-adjacent left wing, and not at improving the situation for the LP, nor finding common ground.

The timing and structure of this motion are atrocious.

We should be defending free speech and setting an example on how we engage with speech related issues, rather than capitulating to the compromised establishment plants. There are many better, more credible ways we could have addressed this issue. Instead it was fodder for the partisans. 

NH has some serious problems, and this censure does nothing to help them or address the issues. It’s just more gas on the fire. 

I would have happily supported a more responsible censure motion, and the drama could have been avoided. 

For these reasons, I abstain.

I do not support leftist nonsense and word policing being used as a distraction from the likely negligence and even malfeasance that has been going on in the LNC. 

I vote no. 

Ps. You all know that you want to disaffiliate, but you don't have the courage.  Censure only makes this worse in every way.
