First, disclaimer. The Policy Manual on the website has not been updated for over a year which is another problem in the LNC not fulfilling its bylaws obligations. Minutes are nearly a year old (yes that is a violation of the Bylaws).
However, judging by the current policy manual, I cannot find that 3/4 threshold. When a higher threshold is needed the reason for it should be included in the ballot.
However, despite me not finding it, unless it says 3/4 of the entire LNC (which would be ridiculously high), it is 3/4 of thoe
present and voting. Absentions do NOTHING to prevent something from passing and members who keep doing that simply do not understand what they are doing. They remove themselves from the equation and indirectly help pass a motion by removing denominator.
Again I don't have the most current policy manual But there were 14 votes. 3/4 of 11 (though I can find that standard nowhere) is 11.
Plus our policy was never the last time of the affiliate but has been Pacific Time since 8 years before I was even around. Why? LNC members change and we don't always have a Hawaii member anbd that is reasonable. I did not make a mistake. Evan
did not make a mistake.
If you are going to publicly mention me, I wish to publicly respond. In fact I would request this be posted. It is frustrating how disrespectfully out of the date the records second of the website is. Members deserve these records and
it is required by the Bylaws.
If any member wishes to give more negotiation time, they need to reconsider. This motion passed as far as I can see because people do not understand what an abstention means and 11-3 is 3/4 in any event.
