Subject: Seeking cosponsors -appeal ruling of the chair #2

I am seeking cosponsors to appeal the ruling of the chair in response to the point of order that the motion to appoint Cowart and Malagon to the EPCC is not a divisible motion. Given that the motion was made to appoint 2 different individuals to 2 different vacancies, each motion can stand on its own.  Our rules demand that a single member can call for division of any appropriate motion.

Mr. Chadderdon,

As discussed on the voting thread to the call for division, the motion is not divisible as it calls for the election of two individuals to the same committee. If it was two separate committees, or elections and a rule change for the committee, division would be in order.

Furthermore, these are not at-large positions but regular committee slots which means they are not for the same seat.

One can vote for a single candidate and not the other, vote yes on both, or vote no. Therefore, division continues to be moot.

Overturning the ruling of the Chair then, would simply break the motion into two separate threads with the same end time.

Sincerely,
Steven Nekhaila
Chairman, LNC
