Good afternoon,

As we were unable to get to this at the previous meeting, I'd like to offer my PM amendment as an email ballot.

Personally, I think email ballots make for easier discussion - and this can double as a hazing experience for the new Secretary.

Move to append the following as a new subsection within Section 1.02.6 - Electronic Mail Ballots of the Policy Manual:
"Before transacting business by electronic mail ballot to fill a committee or LNC vacancy, the LNC shall allow voting members to submit nominations for a period of 48 hours."

I would support this if a minimum period of 1 week existed after the close of nominations and the opening of electronic voting was in place. Candidates for national office should be subject to questions directed by the membership.

I will cosponsor.

While I prefer actions like these to be handled during a meeting, instead via mail ballot, I agree that at least a 48 hour period for nominations prior to a mail ballot is needed.
