After months of careful negotiation and what our outreach director described as "a surprisingly pleasant series of conference calls," we are proud to share a development that represents a bold new chapter for the Libertarian Party.

The LNC has entered into a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the Internal Revenue Service, designating the Libertarian Party as an Official Tax Compliance Advocacy Partner of the United States federal government.

Effective immediately, LP state chapters will host Tax Filing Jubilee Events each April, complete with complimentary auditing assistance and federally branded tote bags. The Party platform will be updated to include a new plank: "Taxation is the price of civilization, and civilization deserves a fair price." LNC members will receive GS-7 equivalent courtesy designations, official lanyards, and laminated compliance cards suitable for framing.

Ron Paul has been notified. He has not responded. We are choosing to interpret his silence as enthusiastic endorsement.

In other exciting convention news, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that Donald J. Trump will once again be gracing the Libertarian National Convention as a featured speaker. We feel this continues to be a completely normal thing for our party to do and are not taking questions at this time.

Any members wishing to raise concerns about either of the above announcements are encouraged to first check today's date and confirm they still have a pulse.

The Libertarian Party remains committed to individual liberty, limited government, free markets, and the radical notion that you should be left the hell alone.
