Resolution Condemning Freemasonry and Requiring Disclosure of Masonic Membership
Submitted by: Austin Martin
Type: Non-Public-Policy Resolution requiring roll-call vote
WHEREAS the Libertarian Party is founded on principles of transparency, individual sovereignty, non-aggression, and the rejection of unaccountable, coercive hierarchies;
WHEREAS Freemasonry is an oath-bound secret society whose initiates swear binding obligations of mutual allegiance, preferment, and concealment that are, by design, never disclosed to the public or to the organizations its members serve;
WHEREAS the Masonic oath obligates its members to extend secret advantage to one another in matters of business, law, and office, and to conceal one another's conduct — an arrangement indistinguishable in operation from institutionalized graft and racketeering;
WHEREAS Freemasonry has for centuries cultivated concealed influence within militaries, central banking, judiciaries, intelligence services, and legislatures, and has repeatedly lent that influence to the advancement of war and empire against the interests of the peoples subject to it;
WHEREAS an organization that binds officials by secret oath to one another, rather than to the public they serve, is a standing mechanism of corruption regardless of the character of any individual initiate;
WHEREAS a secret oath of mutual obligation is irreconcilable with the transparency and individual accountability a free people are owed by those who claim to represent them;
WHEREAS the membership of this Party has a right to know whether its elected officers and committee members hold competing allegiance to a secret fraternal hierarchy before entrusting them with the Party's governance;
RESOLVED, that the Libertarian National Committee condemns Freemasonry as an institution fundamentally incompatible with the transparency, individual sovereignty, and non-aggression this Party was founded to uphold, and repudiates its historic role in the advancement of war, financial entanglement, and concealed influence over public office;
RESOLVED, that the LNC holds that the Masonic system of secret mutual obligation among officeholders constitutes an inherently corrupt arrangement, incompatible with honest and accountable governance;
RESOLVED, that the LNC calls upon every current officer, committee member, and appointee to disclose, in writing and for the public record, any membership in Freemasonry or any affiliated Masonic body;
RESOLVED, that any officer or committee member who fails to disclose such membership within thirty (30) days of adoption of this resolution shall be deemed to have concealed a material conflict of interest from the membership he or she serves;
RESOLVED, that this resolution shall be adopted or rejected only by roll-call vote, with each member's vote entered into the permanent record of these proceedings.
"RESOLVED, that this resolution shall be adopted or rejected only by roll-call vote, with each member's vote entered into the permanent record of these proceedings."

RESOLUTION OF THE LIBERTARIAN NATIONAL COMMITTEE
Condemning Federalization of Elections and Affirming State and Local Control
WHEREAS, Article I, Section 4 of the Constitution assigns to the States the power to prescribe the Times, Places, and Manner of congressional elections, subject only to regulations Congress may make by law, and grants the President no independent authority over election administration; and
WHEREAS, the Libertarian Party holds that elections should be administered by governments closest to the voter, not by a nationalized apparatus of executive orders, grant conditions, federal eligibility lists, or agency threats; and
WHEREAS, the current administration has sought to increase Executive Branch control over elections through executive orders (most recently EO 14399), Homeland Security grant conditions, Postal Service rules on mail ballots, demands for statewide voter files, and pressure for nationwide statutes that would preempt state and local systems;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Libertarian National Committee condemns Executive Branch efforts to assume control over elections the Constitution assigns to the States and to Congress acting by statute; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Libertarian National Committee calls for election administration to remain with the States, local jurisdictions, and tribal nations, free from federal lists of eligible voters, federal vetoes over mail ballots, funding threats, and penalties aimed at coercing local officials; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Libertarian National Committee urges Congress to reject legislation that federalizes voter registration, ballot methods, or voter-roll maintenance beyond the limited role the Constitution contemplates; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Secretary shall transmit this resolution to the President, the leadership of both houses of Congress, and the chairs of the Party’s state affiliates.
