Subject: Membership & Committee Deadlines

Everyone,

The membership deadline for delegate allocation is October 31st. I’ve suggested we launch an incentivized membership push for state affiliates, which would need to begin as soon as possible.

Pat Ford also raised the idea of populating the other Convention Committees earlier than their Bylaws-mandated deadlines. I believe this is a wise approach, especially for the Platform Committee, as having its report finalized early would give us time to include it in printed convention materials. For reference, I’ve already set the goal for the Bylaws Committee deadline to submit its report 30 days prior to convention.

For those less familiar, here are the current deadlines as stated in the Bylaws:

Platform Committee: Members must be selected no later than the last day of the fifth month prior to the regular convention.

Credentials Committee: Members must be selected by each affiliate party no later than three months prior to the regular convention.

Given the importance of these committees, I recommend we open the application process now and begin soliciting applicants for both.
