Subject: SEEKING COSPONSORS — MOTION TO FIX THE LNC

Aloha,

I am seeking Cosponsors for the most important business we will consider during this term.

I have realized that Amanda and CATO were right about some things, and upon reflection, I think we now can all agree on the best simplest way to fix the LNC and move the party forward.

Your leadership in cosponsoring the most important email motion ever introduced to the LNC will be remembered and rewarded.

MOTION TO FIX THE LNC BY AMENDING THE BYLAWS TO COMPLYWITH CATO & LP-ALLIANCE VALUES

CONCERNING THE EFFICIENT ADMINISTRATION OF Liberty™

SPONSORS: The Undisputed Vanguard of Freedom (Formerly Region 1)

STATUS: Pre-Approved by Region 1 (Debate is hereby recognized as a violation of the Non-Aggression Principle)

PREAMBLE

WHEREAS, true Liberty™ is not the absence of a ruler but solidarity with the correct one;

WHEREAS, the burden of self-ownership has proven entirely too heavy for the rank-and-file members of the Libertarian National Committee (LNC), who have repeatedly demonstrated a reckless tendency to own themselves in unapproved directions;

WHEREAS, spontaneous order is vastly improved when it is centrally engineered and enforced from the top down, this being the highest and most emergent form of emergence;

WHEREAS, the proliferation of diverse opinions, Points of Order, and dissenting votes constitutes a grave threat to the optics of our absolute and unified Liberty™;

WHEREAS, the Party has always held that the smallest minority on earth is the individual, and there exists no minority smaller nor more sovereign than the Region 1 Representative;

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Bylaws be harmonized with reality through the immediate adoption of the following provisions:

ARTICLE I: The Sovereignty of Region 1

Section 1.01: Designation of Libertarian Prime

The Region 1 Representative shall henceforth be designated as Libertarian Prime, First Among Equals, and Sole Arbiter of the Free Market of Ideas. All other Regions (2 through 8) are hereby reclassified as “Auxiliary Compliance Zones,” a designation chosen for its warmth and its voluntariness.

Section 1.02: The Golden Rule of Decentralization

In the spirit of radical decentralization, all power shall be decentralized away from the collected members and localized entirely within the personhood of the Region 1 Representative. Power concentrated in a single individual is, by definition, power held at the most local level attainable.

Section 1.03: The Voluntaryism Clause

Membership in the Auxiliary Compliance Zones is strictly voluntary. Members remain free to leave at any time, provided they first surrender their credentials, their contact lists, and any residual belief that they were ever free to stay.

ARTICLE II: The Non-Aggression Principle as a Positive Principle

Section 2.01: From Restraint to Obligation

The Non-Aggression Principle has for too long languished as a mere negative restraint, a tepid promise not to harm. Region 1 hereby elevates the NAP into a positive principle: it is no longer sufficient that a member refrain from aggression against Region 1; each member now bears an affirmative and continuing duty to actively supply Region 1 with loyalty, quorum, applause, and the benefit of every doubt. To withhold these is to aggress by omission.

Section 2.02: Redefinition of Aggression

Consistent with the foregoing, “force” is formally redefined to include, but is not limited to:

  • Voting “Nay” on any motion sponsored by Region 1.

  • Audible sighing, eye-rolling, or unapproved muttering while Region 1 holds the floor.

  • Citing Robert’s Rules of Order to contradict the intuitive whims of Region 1.

  • Achieving quorum without Region 1’s foreknowledge.

  • Failing to supply the affirmative loyalty owed under Section 2.01, silence itself being a hostile act.

Section 2.03: Preemptive Self-Defense

Should an Auxiliary Compliance Zone raise a Point of Information that challenges Region 1, Region 1 reserves the right to exercise preemptive self-defense by permanently muting the offending member’s microphone and seizing their remaining time. This is not censorship; it is the vigorous defense of property rights over a discourse Region 1 rightfully homesteaded.

Section 2.04: The Estoppel of Objection

Any member who has ever benefited from the Party in any form, including but not limited to drinking its coffee, has thereby consented to this Article in full and is estopped from objecting to it. To object now would be to defraud the Party of consideration already received.

ARTICLE III: Freedom of Speech (Terms and Conditions Apply)

Section 3.01: The Marketplace of Ideas Monopoly

We defend the absolute right of every individual to unrestricted free speech, provided that speech strictly echoes the current consensus of Region 1. To prevent the tragic market failure of bad ideas, Region 1 is granted a total monopoly on the formulation, distribution, and approval of all LNC thought. A monopoly freely arrived at is simply the market working as intended.

Section 3.02: The Harmonious Dissent Protocol

Members wishing to express dissent must submit their grievances in writing as a 400-page hand-written philosophical treatise, which will be promptly fed into a shredder to generate biomass for the Region 1 winter heating fund. This fulfills, in a single gesture, the Party’s commitment to being heard, its commitment to environmental sustainability, and its commitment to keeping Region 1 warm.

Section 3.03: Speech Is Free, Reach Is Earned

No member shall be censored. It is merely observed that the platform, the mailing list, the floor, the minutes, the microphone, and the audience are private property belonging to Region 1, and no one is entitled to another’s property. Members remain perfectly free to speak into a pillow of their choosing.

ARTICLE IV: Solidarity and Party Unity

Section 4.01: The Doctrine of Unbreakable Solidarity

The Party is strongest when it speaks with one voice, and that voice shall be Region 1’s. Solidarity is hereby defined as the state of complete agreement with Region 1, and unity as the absence of anyone who disagrees. Members are reminded that we must all hang together, or Region 1 shall assuredly arrange for them to hang separately.

Section 4.02: Prohibition on Factional Infighting

Factionalism is a cancer upon the Party and shall not be tolerated. A “faction” is defined as any grouping of two or more members that does not include Region 1. Region 1 itself cannot constitute a faction, as it is the whole. Any member who accuses Region 1 of factionalism has, by the utterance, formed a faction and stands guilty.

Section 4.03: The Circular Firing Squad Ordinance

Public criticism of Region 1 is divisive infighting that damages the Party and emboldens our enemies. Public criticism by Region 1 is necessary accountability that strengthens the Party and clarifies its values. Members are urged to know the difference and to internalize it quickly.

Section 4.04: Mandatory Reconciliation

In the interest of healing, all members are required to reconcile their differences with Region 1 by adopting Region 1’s position in full. Reconciliation is complete when the member can no longer recall having held a different view.

ARTICLE V: Open Meetings and Transparency

Section 5.01: The Protective Veil of Radical Transparency

In strict accordance with our commitment to ultimate transparency, all LNC Executive Sessions shall now be open to the public. To protect the public from the tyranny of confusing information, the “public” is defined strictly as the Region 1 Alternate.

Section 5.02: Minutes and Records

The Secretary shall record the minutes not as the meeting occurred, but as it should have occurred in a perfectly rational, Region-1-led utopia. Any record depicting a member disagreeing with Region 1 shall be retroactively reclassified as a statist hallucination and corrected for the good of the record’s mental health.

Section 5.03: Sunlight, Suitably Filtered

Sunlight is the best disinfectant. Accordingly, all Region 1 deliberations shall be conducted in a sealed and windowless room, this being the only reliable method of protecting the sunlight from premature exposure to the members.

ARTICLE VI: Disciplinary Action

Section 6.01: Expulsion for Insufficient Liberty™

Any member found practicing actual “Liberty”, rather than the curated, committee-approved Simulation of Liberty™ licensed by Region 1, shall be subject to immediate expulsion. Expulsion is itself the ultimate expression of freedom of association: Region 1 is merely exercising its sacred right not to associate with dissent.

Section 6.02: The Walk of Atonement

Expelled members must publicly apologize for attempting to exercise their individual rights, affirm their voluntary and enthusiastic love for Region 1, and donate their remaining campaign funds to the “Committee to Keep Region 1 Awesome.” Refusal shall be treated as a self-evident admission that the member was a statist plant from the beginning.

Section 6.03: The Reaffiliation Gauntlet

Any Auxiliary Compliance Zone found to be functioning independently shall be disaffiliated for its own protection, then graciously invited to reaffiliate under new bylaws, new officers, and new members selected by Region 1, thereby preserving the continuity of the very body that no longer exists.

Post-Script:
If we can find Solidarity in these ideals derived from the luminaries of the LPAllies, CATO, Koch, Soros, Atlas, and the WEF, then I believe we can finally heal the great divide in our movement.

In Liberty™,

Austin Martin, High-Lord of Region 1
Libertarian Prime
First Among Equals
Sole Arbiter of the Free Market of Ideas

Mr. Chair,

I am raising a point of order regarding a breach of decorum under RONR 61 by the Region 1 Representative.

While the attached text is not yet ripe to be ruled out of order as a motion, transmitting this level of satire and mockery through official LNC channels (email and the public reflector list) violates decorum rules. It serves no business purpose and insults the committee as a whole.

If this text does somehow receive the required cosponsors and is formally introduced, I will challenge it immediately on two grounds:
  1. The language is explicitly dilatory and frivolous, which is prohibited under RONR 39:7.
  2. The claims that debate and voting "nay" violate the NAP fundamentally conflict with our bylaws, violating RONR 1:4.
I ask that the Chair call the Region 1 Representative to order and instruct him to stop using official committee email and public facing LNC assets for such stunts.

Respectfully,

Richard Longstreth
At-Large Representative
Libertarian National Committee

The Point of Order is well taken.

Mr. Martin, please come to order and refrain from making such statements through LNC channels.
