This Week:
Start-of-Summer Produce, Tannin, Strange Matter Coffee Co., and a Performance by Temesgen!
Wednesday, June 25
2:30 - 7:00 pm
The market is now bursting with the bounty of early summer, filling out a rainbow of locally grown produce ready to be cooked up in your kitchen. In addition, we'll have all the breads, meats, cheeses, and sweet treats you'll need to round out your meal. Tannin will have their famous Cornetti pastry (and lots more), Strange Matter will be making cups of delicious coffee (hot and iced) to order, The Country Mill will have their market-favorite apple cider slushies, and Temesgen will perform from 4-6. Also, Red's Smokehouse will be operating out of the Allen Market Place, serving up pulled pork nachos, smoked portabella sandwiches, BLT's, gluten-free chicken salad wraps, bbq baked beans, and more. Finally, Allen Neighborhood Center will be celebrating it's 15th birthday this week and we're marking the occasion with cake around 3:00 at the Outreach table in the center of the market!
p.s. Good Bites food truck will be back next week!

Help us advertise by putting out an ASFM yard sign every Wednesday morning to help passersby remember that Wednesday is market day on the Eastside! A word on market currency: Got to the market only to realize you're out of cash? No worries! Visit our Market Bank where you can use your debit or credit card to get the amount you need to make your purchases in Market Money Tokens, worth $5 each. All of our vendors accept these and they are used just like cash. For example: if you buy a $4 item from a vendor with one Market Money Token, they will simply give you a $1 back in cash. Don't worry about having to run to the ATM before coming to the market! Similarly, EBT cards can be used to purchase EBT tokens, worth $1 each. With EBT tokens, however, you cannot buy something for $1.50 with 2 EBT tokens and get .50 back in change - you would need to use .50 of your own change. Questions? Just stop by the bank table and our friendly banker, Aris, will be happy to help!
