Colleagues,
I am attaching a proposal to address the problem Mr. Bracco pointed out:
that the LNC could decide to gate-keep by not offering life memberships.
The intention is to require the LNC to issue life memberships, constrain
the price they may charge, but offer some discretion on the price set.
This avoids the problem of inflation or needing to update the bylaws
here whenever the dues for sustaining memberships are modified.
In relevant part:
4.2. The National Committee [[may]] [shall] offer life memberships
[priced between 40x and 100x sustaining memberships] and must honor all
prior and future life memberships.
