Colleagues,

I am currently watching Caryn Ann Harlos's stream. These thoughts are
not necessarily hers, they are mine reacting to what she discussed.

On the restructure the LNC proposal (proposal 8), we require "more than
4/5" for removal. This is to protect those elected with cumulative
voting from removal by a majority trying to consolidate their power.
However, I'm confused why we say "more than". Why isn't 4/5 enough?
Practically, if this passes the LNC would have 11 members and with the
person being removed excluded from the vote that means 4/5 is 8/10 and
"more than" 4/5 is 9/10. Harlos thought 2/3 was enough if the other
proposal on the removal procedure passed, but I'm not so sure I agree
with her there. I suggest we consider removing "more than".

On proposal 9, instead of saying "executive committee", we could say
"national committee"; there is another bylaw that lets that be delegated
to another body such as the executive committee if the LNC chooses. Her
point is the party isn't required to have an executive committee. In the
second part, we could add "domestic partner" after "family member" in
that list.

In liberty,
Dr. Chuck Moulton

There is now an addendum; only about 5 or 10 minutes.
