These meetings are special meetings so only those items specifically noticed can be heard. Remember for new members, we meet on zoom on the first Sunday of every month unless that date is within thirty days before or after an in-person meeting.
Right now we have standing items of Convention Oversight and Ballot Access. I am going to guess at 15 minutes each. Please post notice of any other items here. If it is for a motion rather than discussion item, the language of the motion has to be noticed. I collect the items on this thread and will prepare a draft agenda for the chair at 7/3/24.
In Liberty, Caryn Ann Harlos
LNC Secretary and LP Historical Preservation Committee Chair ~ 561.523.2250
Population of Committees and application process. 10 minutes – no motion needed, Chair can instruct Secretary but we need to go over which committees we wish to populate now and composition for those who wish to apply, time frame, etc.
You might remember after the convention at the post-convention meeting, it was mentioned that historical buttons belonging to the Party were taken out of display cases at the historical table we must assume in a mistaken belief that they were there to take home because so many tables had free stuff. I had thought the Credentials Committee had a fairly complete list of emails of attendees as the LPHPC would like to write asking for the return of any that were mistakenly taken but they do not.
I would like a discussion on how an ask can be made to have any taken mistakenly to be returned. Can such an ask be included in an informational email, such as one that goes out for committee applications? May I make a post on the main site? Does staff have a list of email of registrants, or can I go through the CRM and credentials emails to find whatever emails we have and have an email to be sent out ? If not possible to be sent out from master account, can I have authority to write and ask?
About 70 buttons (I can review last LPHPC minutes and find out) and several mugs were taken.

Our monthly meetings do not include staff reports. Those are at our in-person meetings only – it can be requested that a staff report be given, but this is short notice for staff who has their week planned out and might not have intended or planned to spend Sunday evening with us.
I know this can get confusing for new members so I hope this helps:
The monthly meetings (in fact all electronic meetings) are “special meetings” which means that only the items specifically noticed can be heard. It would be possible to create a one-time or multi-use Special Rule of Order to designate an electronic meeting as a regular meeting. The reason they are presently special meetings is because our Policy Manual says so (PM 1.02(8)(g)). If they were regular meetings then absences from them would count towards the Bylaws mandatory attendance clause in which missing two consecutive regular sessions (a session can comprise one meeting) is an automatic resignation (Bylaw 7.6). The standing agenda for regular meetings is in the Policy Manual at 1.02.1. The Previous Notice mentioned right above just happens to be the same five days as applies to special meetings, but for special meetings the previous notice more draws from PM 1.02(8)(d).

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions on these sorts of nuances.
Mr. Watkins, here is the PM provision:
Previous Notice An LNC Member may satisfy the requirement of giving previous notice of their intention to introduce an original main motion at the next session by:
• announcing this intention at the previous session in the presence of a quorum, providing an accurate and complete statement of purport, with such notice to be taken note of in the minutes; or
• sending the complete language of the motion to the entire LNC by e-mail at least five (5) days prior to the session.
Previous notice is not required unless specified by the Party Bylaws or its parliamentary authority though vote thresholds may change based upon whether or not notice was given.
Because this is a special meeting previous notice is required by our parliamentary authority so I will need the complete language of any motion in regards to your item.
Do you have a copy of that letter I can include as an attachment to the agenda?
