Preliminary Call For Papers

International Conference on Web-Age Information Management
(WAIM'2000)
Shanghai, China
June 21-23, 2000

http://www.ise.gmu.edu/waim00

Database research and development has been remarkably successful over
its 30-year history. Now the field is facing new challenges posted by
the rapid advances of hardware technology, the penetration of the Web
and Internet to everyone's daily life, and the changes of the
economical and financial environment where database systems are used.
In addition to be able to efficiently manage large volume of data as a
passive repository in own organizations, the ability of managing data
in the cyberspace, extracting relevant information, and discovering
knowledge to support decision making is critical to the success of any
organization. WAIM'00 will provide researchers and practitioners
with a forum to share their experiences in tackling problems in
managing and using data, information and knowledge in the age of the
Internet and Web and to identify new issues and directions for
research and development work in the new millennium.

You are invited to submit technical papers in English reporting recent
results in database and related fields. Both research papers and
experience and application papers are welcome. While research papers
should report original research work, experience and application
papers should describe the development and operations of challenging
database related systems and applications.

TOPICS OF INTEREST
