A simple question:
What should be in the filesys.1.mountname directive in the lmtrc file?
A mountpoint? Which one?
I have a hard time getting my update scripts to put any information in the db. Only the MDS data works, not the OSS and OST.

It is
filesys.1.mountname=<insert_/path/to/mountpoint_here>
path of directory on which you mounted file system.

What filesystem? MDT mount point? lustre client? What?

If you mount your file system on your clients on /lustre, then put /lustre.
I'm not sure if this is actually used anywhere so it probably doesn't
much matter.
