Hi Folks,

A bit of an extended period since the previous web update, so
apologies for the big gap. Here is some of what has been happening
since the previous update in March.

* Carriage Shed — Many of the regular volunteers devoted a day to a
spring clean of the shed.

* Visitor Room — For any visitors that noticed the lack of TV and
LMSCA DVD in the visitor room over the winter, a replacement TV has
now been installed.

* 7828 — Since the colder, wetter season has passed sealing of the
roof with a mixture of roofing compound and boiled linseed oil has
commenced. The west side framework reconstruction has been completed,
along with priming and undercoating, and the commencement of a top
coat on the framework to help slow down any future rotting. Some ply
has also been cut and primed in preparation for the panelling.

* 27162 — This is the LMSCA's latest acquisition, and is currently at
Wirksworth on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. An article is due in
the next edition of The Droplight, and it will have its own page on
the new website in due course.

* Current website — There have not been any updates on this recently,
as I am tending to allocate any website time to the new website.

* New Website — At times this can feel a little like the rebuilding of
the WCML, but without the going over budget. On the development side
it is looking much more complete than several weeks ago, and some
previous technical issues with Internet Explorer have been overcome.
When will it be ready? Hopefully not too much longer...

That's all for now. More in the next update.

Cheers,
Mike
