Dear LMSA-West Pre-Health Students,
The UC San Diego School of Medicine chapter of the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) is proud to host the 29th Annual LMSA Western Regional Conference. The goal of our conference is to bring together students and physicians at various stages along the educational pipeline that are interested in serving Latino and medically underserved communities.
The theme of this year's conference is "Waves of Change, Improving the Health of Our Community." As our communities grow and health disparities widen, a diverse health workforce is critical. While there are many barriers facing our community in accessing higher education and entering the health professions, there is much that can be done through mentorship, leadership and advocacy.
