Hope you are coping well so far with your assignments... In this temporary lull before all our final tests and deadlines, I wanna share a few things with you. Appreciate if you can spare me just this short while to read through this email properly. Thank you so much!
I recently met with Psychology Society president and gained some ideas on how we can tap on some opportunities to formalize our society. Gourie and myself will proceed to restart the application process. There still major obstacles with Student Affairs Office (SAO) so there's no guarantees yet. If you are keen to learn more, feel free to check with me.
2. Dropping yearbook plans
After much consideration and discussion with Gourie, we will be dropping our plans to do our year book. I thought deep about it and figured that we are tackling the bonding issue in the wrong way, a yearbook should not be a means to bond people but rather a symbol for people who have successfully bonded.
My sincere apologies for coming up with this silly suggestion earlier in our term. It is still in my hope that we can one day proudly do up a yearbook that is highly demanded by our community. However that will take a few years before we finally achieve a highly bonded community.
With this, I intend for our tea party to be expanded to a full day event for our LMS freshies to bond better. Further discussions and deeper planning will be required and we shall do this as an entire committee. Hopefully with this pioneering batch of bonded freshies, we can invite them to initiate our first FOC (supported by further funding from SAO if we successfully formalize) in our following year.
3. Our LMS Society Interim-Report Book
Attached in this email is my compilation of our achievements so far. I have named it Our LMS Society Interim-Report Book. It is a summary of your contributions so far and to mark how far we have come as a society. :) With every report, there is always the good and the can-be-improved areas. Please do not take these results personally as they are products of our collective efforts. I will be fully responsible for all poor performances by our society.
Nonetheless, with this being said, every bit of success is to your credit and without your hardwork behind the scenes, there wouldn't be so many reasons (mostly successful in our COMPLETED-Till-Date activities) for us to celebrate so far. So GREAT JOB! :D
4. Feedback from you
I believe there is always ample room for improvement for myself and Gourie. If you could, I will highly appreciate that you fill up this feedback form for us to either a) Acknowledge any positives b) Suggest areas of improvement
PS:
A) We won't be having any meetings any time soon until after your exams have ended. So let's chill for now
B) On our cohesion at The Rink, I will be subsidising $5 to each of you regardless of turnout. It is the least I can do as token of appreciation. For others who cannot join us this time, I'll look out for other opportunities to thank you :) Can't wait to see you all at The Rink soon!
