Hey Jia Ni,
Thanks for your prompt and thorough planning of the movie event. Could you:
1. Review past AAR to ensure that we don't miss out on any improvement areas
2. Discuss with Alfred and collectively decide if you want to stick with Auditorium or a less spacious alternative (South Spine LTs or Seminar Room)
- My concern here is whether transiting to a smaller venue can improve the impression of a good turnout. Typically, the huge space of HSS auditorium leaves an LT looking unfilled no matter how many year 1s attend, so the empty space doesn't leave a good
impression on them and even if there is good attendance, it won't look that way. However a smaller venue that is full house may help boost our event forward. (think 20 pax in a 150 seater theatre vs 20 pax in a 30 seater theatre)
- Do discuss it thoroughly with him and make a decision, I will respect whatever decision made after your discussion
3. Please proceed to check with Nurazean promptly on venue booking once you complete your venue decision with Alfred and go ahead to commence publicity blasts immediately.
4. Side suggestion, My Fair Lady can be relatable for all seniors too, so in your publicity efforts do consider having a brief intro about the movie content and linguistic context for year 1s and encourage seniors to take this opportunity to reminisce
their freshmen experience.
5. Expenditure budgeting for food is approved too.
That is all, please do make necessary adjustments to your proposal, elaborate on your publicity effort if possible and forward me and our committee whenever you are ready (in the meantime you can go ahead to liaise with Nurazean while doing publicity blasts).
Thanks for putting this together in such a short time :)
Cheers
Yu Ting
