======================================================================================
We have LML44 card (with 8 multiplexed video inputs).
The video input we get is very much disturbed. (See attached
img1.jpg)
To test the video inputs we used both xawtv and ZoneMinder but the
result is the same.
With ZoneMinder, though, if we configure the "Device Format" as "AUTO"
we get an-almost-normal but B&W
video signal (See attached img2.jpg)

We have compiled the latest 2.6.20.6 vanilla kernel.
We load manually the card's module with:
modprobe bttv card=118,118,118,118
nd it's detected:

bttv0: using: LMLBT4 [card=118,insmod option]
bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=008ff000
[init]
LMLBT4x init
bttv0: using tuner=-1
bttv0: i2c: checking for TDA9887 @ 0x86... not found
bttv0: registered device video0
bttv0: registered device vbi0
bttv: Bt8xx card found (1).

...................

Please note that before some time ago we had purchased
the same card and we used 2.6.13 vanilla kernel ....
and the video inputs worked fine. If we use this patched 2.6.13 kernel
with the
new card, then the video is working ok! So the problem can't be
faulty hardware. Unfortunately we can't
deploy 2.6.13 with this new computer .....

LML tech support:

Are you using PAL or NTSC?
Try putting this to /etc/modprobe.conf
options bttv card=118,118,118,118 pll=1

===========================================================================================
LML customer:
Great news! It's working:)
I only added pll=1,1,1,1 because with pll=1 it was
only working with video0.
We are using PAL and 2.6.20.6 (vanila), but I will
test now if it's wokring with debian's 2.6.18 for
smoother updates in the future
===========================================================================================
CONCLUSION:
When using PAL with LMLBT4M or LMLBT44, put this configuration into /
etc/modprobe.conf

options bttv card=118,118,118,118 pll=1,1,1,1
