We have a sperimental platform based on LMF server but it goes down without making any error log: is it possible to have a debug log level? Thanks Alessandra

you should have a logback.xml in your $LMF_HOME which you can use to
configure all logging.

You can change the default log-level by changing the ROOT-logger at the
end of the file to:

<root level="DEBUG">
<appender-ref ref="STDOUT" />
</root>

For more details about the log configuration options please see the
logback-doku: http://logback.qos.ch/manual/

BTW: If you're running LMF in a standalone tomcat, you should also have
a look into the tomcat-logfiles: catalina.out, localhost.log,
catalina.log
Some errors are reported only there...

Best,
Jakob

Thank you Jakob. I don't find anything both in lmf log file and in catalina.out file. In logback.xml I find:
<root level="debug">
        <appender-ref ref="STDOUT" />
        <appender-ref ref="main" />
    </root>
I commented  <appender-ref ref="main" />, debug seems case insensitive, but in any case I changed it to DEBUG.

Please also look for other (tomcat) log-files, some errors - esp. severe
memory errors - are reported only there.

I'd keep the main-appender as this is the one writing to lmf-main.log!
Also have a look at the configuration of the main-appender, it might
have a <filter> enabled, stripping out all messages below WARN...

There is one level even more chattier than DEBUG, wich is TRACE. If you
still don't get any output you can try this.

Best,
Jakob
