how to set a real website URL identifier for the resource and test that on your local machine ?

instead of localhost i would like to use http://www.mywebsiteadress.com/xxxx or http://www.mywebsiteadress.com/id/xxxx

how can i configure my machine to redirect that adress to localhost ?
