new problem with build lmctfy

this is error message:

collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

I build on debian3.2.41 with gcc4.7.2 and g++4.7.2.

What is the gcc line being invoked?

Also, what is the output of: 

pkg-config --cflags --libs protobuf
