Hi Aine,

Yes, it was great to chat with you on Thursday. Glad I could get
a feel for your club's situation to see how I can help. I will
take a look at all you have given to see what needs to be done
first. In my team meeting tomorrow, I will also see if we have
any Languages/Linguistics contacts I could pass along your info
to.

Will contact you tomorrow afternoon with more information.

Kind regards,

Julia

Hi Julia,

It was great to talk to you today about LLS, I really appreciate
your time and input. Please see attached for everything I have
pertaining to LLS this semester. There is also a file left on
dropbox from our president labelled "constitution" which I think
is the AUSA one, plus another one called "LLS constitution" (left
exactly as it was handed over). We were confused as that one
didn't resemble the AUSA constitution and it looked out of date
to our aims so we revised it to create "Appendix A, mission
statement" (as the AUSA constitution referenced an appendix I
think), which is also attached.

Many thanks again for your assistance, and enjoy your day of
annual leave!

Best wishes,

Aine

Thanks Julia. I had heard about the English Club thanks, some
people in one of my courses are organizing that. Do you think we
should talk about collaborating or something? When they were
asking about interest for that club, I mentioned how there was
already LLS, and we agreed that a specifically English-focused
club could definitely have something to offer, I'm just not sure
about the number of people in terms of some of us choosing to
maybe join just one because of time commitments etc.

So do you think we should go ahead and email some of the people
from DALSL and ask them if they would be interested in helping
out with a stall at O Week? I guess I'm a bit nervous as we don't
have much of a record of being particularly successful at
organizing or running anything but if you think it is still a
good idea I can definitely ask.

Thanks again,

Kind regards,

Aine

Hi Aine,

I have found a few Languages and Linguistics contact details for
you. Also, there is a new English Club who will be attending
tomorrow's Treasurer Training. I will pass your contacts on to
them. Hope this helps.

Hi Aine,

Thanks for all your hard work on things. I'm sorry that I can't help
out more this time of semester. Next year should be less busy for me
and so I can dedicate more time to the club then. Re the O-Week
stall: I am on good terms with some of the DALSL linguistics staff and
so would be happy to ask them to help out on the stall. I imagine
Jason would be keen to help if he is available. Is there any rush in
confirming this? I can of course be on the stall myself too.

Hi,

I think any help from other clubs (sharing members and resources)
and faculty members (contributing contacts, expertise, and
resources) would benefit. Just spark and gauge the interest now,
have some info meetings, idea sharing sessions to get the club
off the ground and running. Worry about the O-week stall next
year. Of course, I will hold a place for you at the expo.

There are specific language clubs that you could contact as well.
Spanish, German, French? Invite their execs to invite members to
a movie night or social activity. You never know where these
contacts could lead.

Kind regards,

Julia
