Hello,
My name is Bani and I am a member of AIESEC Auckland City. We are
a youth
run, not-for-profit, international organisation and our office is
located
in the University Business School. The reason for my email today
is to
inform you that AIESEC Auckland City is proud to formally invite
you to...
GENERATION Y:
'Travelling to go or to grow?’
What is this event, you may ask? Generation Y is an interactive
event
which focuses on networking and bringing university clubs and
lecturers
under one roof to discuss the knowledge they value about their
overseas
experiences and how it makes an individual stand out in the work
force.
A number of highly respected university staff, including: Kris
Gledhill
(Law), Dr. Graeme Finlay (FHMS), Margot Bowler (Business), and
Hilary Chung
(HoD of Asian Studies) will be sharing their personal overseas
experiences
over the years and how overseas learning experiences have
enriched them as
stronger individuals over the years. As young adults on the verge
of
stepping into the workforce, there are many things we may be
unsure of. The
advice of someone who has been through it all is invaluable and
can help us
make better decisions.
Student clubs and organizations rarely have the chance to come
together
under one roof to meet and discuss the knowledge they value.
Generation Y
encourages getting to know people of all generations and
faculties as doing
so it can lead onto further opportunities to secure your own
individual
futures. Please refer to the information below for more details
regarding
the event (and see the attached information).
What: Generation Y (networking event). The overarching theme of
the event
is overseas exchange and self development, with a focus on New
Zealand and
its standing in the world. The tagline ‘Travelling to go or to
grow’
suggests that instead of travelling for sight-seeing purposes,
how can we
find means to develop as individuals, both professionally and
personally,
through overseas travelling?
When: Monday 16th September, 6pm
Where: Decima Glenn, Owen G. Glenn Building
Dress Code: Semi-formal/ Casual
We would be honoured to have representatives from your university
organisation, ranging from those in the Executive positions to
active
members of the club. Because Gen Y is an invite-only event with
limited
seating, please remember to register below to secure a place for
yourself
as soon as possible. If you have an queries regarding the event,
please
feel free to email back. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you
at the
event!
