The date is the First Non of Geor… it has been about two tendays since the Landing in Lothan. Word has spread of the Scourging of Caemeron, and the terrible rumors that have followed. And as it has, the Grand Endeavor has begun to take hold on Lloegyr.
The Scourging took place in Lothan, a ten-day after the Landing and the death of Lyr. Rumors are wild and contradictory, but it's generally agreed that the Blue Bishop, Madelaine, attempted to perform the Rite of Revelation, and that an Aelic assassin interrupted the ceremony. Caemeron was whipped severely, and Madelaine was bloodied before the scene degenerated into a mob, and the common opinion is that Caemeron used witchcraft to escape.
The Hand of Arim is incensed. Most members, who don't even speak Heorot, have declared this as an example of how the island has to be cleansed. Another landing is about to occur, this time in Bessex, and rumor has it the Kraki are marching south from Longmarch Pass to meet up with the crusaders. In Bessex, Robert, Thane of Sennis and vassal to Katherine of Lamark, awaits what appears to be an overwhelming force.
In the midsts of this chaos, Cernan the Blue sits in his chambers in silence, corresponding with various church officials, and ensuring that his gold cloaks keep a calm and measured response to the small pockets of discontent popping up in Caerlot. Meanwhile, the Hand of Arim has left Lothan, and marches… three thousand strong… across the Heartlands towards Kenton… where they believe that Caemeron has fled.
