This is to bring to your kind notice that the NALSAR Lecture Series on Constitutionalism will be hosting Dr. Afroz Alam, Professor and Head, Department of Political Science at Maulana Azad National Urdu University, for a lecture titled "Shifting Electoral Trends and Oppositional Politics in India". The lecture is scheduled to take place on March 7th, 2026, from 11 AM, at Classroom 1.
Dr. Alam is also Director of the Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy at MANUU. A leading scholar in political sociology and electoral studies, Dr. Alam has authored various research articles and numerous book reviews in national and international journals. He regularly contributes opinion pieces to publications such as The Tribune, Deccan Chronicle, The Times of India, The Wire, and The Conversation, among others. His research interests include comparative politics, identity politics, electoral studies, multiculturalism, and minority rights. The lecture will examine recent electoral shifts in India and the changing nature of oppositional politics, making it especially relevant in the present political context.
The lecture will be very interesting and will involve topics of contemporary relevance. We look forward to your presence and active participation.
