We are pleased to inform you that the Election Commission of India ("ECI") has expressed its interest in engaging law graduates and postgraduate students of our University as legal researchers for a term of one year.
In furtherance of the same, please note the following:
Position's Responsibility
The position would entail examining issues on electoral law related matters, formulating proposals, researching on international practices on specific areas of electoral practices and preparing legal notes on election related subjects. It will also include giving assistance to the Secretariat of the ECI in handling litigation in Courts and matters involving legal issues in the Commission.
Qualifications Required
Academics
The candidate should have a minimum of 60% or its equivalent CGPA in their degree and should not have any backlogs for detention in any semester. Further, the applicant should possess good communication and writing skills in English with specification in Electoral Laws, Constitutional law or similar subjects.
Experience
The candidate should have a minimum of three internships with reputed law firms/Advocates in New Delhi. Participation in one National-Level Moot Court, one publication (preferably international) is mandatory for applying for applying to the opportunity.
Desired Skills
The candidate should have adequate knowledge of online databases, MS word and MS Excel.
Selection Process & Remuneration
A qualifying interview of the shortlisted candidates will be conducted for final selection. The selected Legal Researchers will be paid a monthly remuneration of Rs 44,000/- (monthly remuneration of Rs 35000/- and a fixed monthly Transport Allowance of Rs 9000/ Statutory deductions of taxes at source will apply). No TA/DA and any other allowance of any kind will be admissible.
