LLL Birthplace Historical Marker Permission

Hi Everyone,

We have cause to celebrate again.  Another timely milestone in the Langstroth Birthplace Marker project was reached on the 8th of April.  Mr. Jeffrey A. Reinhold gave his authorization for the proposed location at 106 S. Front St.  Now we should be able to concentrate on the funding.

Kim,

There was a grainy photo of Langstroth holding a smoker & standing by a chair that Marc Hoffman showed me--I think it was a photo of a photo so poor quality.  Also, there is a picture at the American Philosophical Society of LLL as an old man standing by a tree--this can be viewed online.

Hi,

Found it...it's in an old ABC...we're going to scan it and clean it up in photoshop for our next article...I'll send it along when we get it cleaned up. We are, I think, going to make a life size cut out of it...anybody have any idea how tall he was...for a celebration at our local library this summer...and maybe use it somewhere else...It'll be, probably, in 3 pieces...sendable, so maybe we can get it out to you guys for some of your parties...

That would be cool--I want to get my picture taken with him.  I don't know how tall he was. I've never seen an image of him standing with anyone. In the photos taken of him out of doors among hives at the Root's Factory in Medina he seemed not so imposing. Make him tall--he's 200.
