I haven't seen these and can't get to them easily but calling your attention to these items in the closed stacks of The Historical Society of PA that might be useful, especially the Morris Arboretum bulletin.

Philadelphia City Directories

Philadelphia City Directories are an excellent source for locating information on Philadelphia residents, businesses, and city-wide development. The collections of The Historical Society of Pennsylvania contain a complete run of City Directories beginning in the late 18th-century and running consistently through 1935. The following bibliography notes the years and locations of various Directories and supporting reference works. For additional listings of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Directories as well as those for cities such as Camden, Baltimore, and Boston, search the online catalog under the heading "City Directories."

The following Philadelphia City Directories are available for reference purposes in the CDIR section of the Pennsylvania Room, but are not available for photocopying. All copies of City Directory entries must be made from the microform versions, which are available in the Albert M. Greenfield Microfilm & Media Center.
