Due to the Reichs Ford Road Facility being closed on Monday, May 27th, all recycling collections will slide one day with Monday's scheduled collection sliding to Tuesday. Tuesday will slide to Wednesday, Wednesday will slide to Thursday, Thursday will slide to Friday, and Friday will slide to Saturday, June 1st.

Since 1991, the recycling arm of Frederick County Division of Solid Waste and Recycling has served the entire population of Frederick County by uniquely advocating and executing programs centered around the 5Rs:

Frederick County recycling also works with third parties and different organizations to implement special programs and events such as textile, household hazardous waste, and other collections that benefit the county's residents.

Is your cart missing? Please wait a day or two before requesting a replacement. We find that in most cases, carts reappear, OR, another abandoned cart is left sitting out on the street nearby and can be adopted for use.

CART ORDERS FOR NEW HOMES (built in the past 12 months): When a recycle cart is ordered for a newly built home, it will be delivered on the first scheduled recycling collection day of the following month. This means it can take 2 - 5 weeks to receive a new home's recycling cart and begin service. You do not need to contact the office to check up on the order; simply use the online form to request a cart, and your service will start within the next month. Unfortunately, if you do not yet have a blue cart, you cannot recycle at home. (This is due to billing and contractual arrangements with the County's recycling contractor.)

Frederick County contracts both the collection of materials and the sorting of the materials to third-party partners. These contracts give Frederick County one of the clearest recycling guidelines, allowing residents to make every effort to Recycle not just right but with purpose!

Please Note: If your house was built in the past year, it may not be part of this database yet. Simply enter your street's name (or a neighboring street) and select a nearby address to receive identical information.

Delaware has one recycling program that is the same whether at home, at work or at school. Use our Recyclopedia search tool to know what is acceptable to recycle in Delaware and how to properly dispose of all your waste.

Recycling programs differ from state to state. Let Recyclopedia be your guide to properly managing your wastes in Delaware. Some items are acceptable to put in your curbside recycling cart or dumpster. Other items must be taken to a drop-off site to be recycled.

Place acceptable recyclables loose (not bagged) into your curbside recycling cart or dumpster. Never place them in a plastic bag or garbage bag. Bagged items will not be sorted and will end up in the landfill.

The enhanced plastic bag ban was passed by the Delaware General Assembly in 2021. It expanded a 2019 bag ban to all retail stores (excluding restaurants) regardless of size. The law bans all plastic bags at checkout.

DNREC offers free, non-regulatory assessments of commercial waste streams and waste management practices. DNREC works with the Recycling Public Advisory Council and the Delaware Solid Waste Authority to promote and support recycling in Delaware.

Some special wastes may require certain handling procedures and may pose a threat to human health or the environment. Keep these materials separate from regular trash and out of landfills. Many of these materials can be recycled through one of several programs or they can be taken to a Household Hazardous Waste Collection event.

The Division of Public Health offers prescription drug take-back events and medication collection boxes at several locations. Many police stations also have collection stations available. Do not flush unwanted medication down the toilet, it contaminates our water.

Recycling and resource recovery are an important part of any sustainability effort. As part of our sustainable business practices, we offer various programs to help you recycle your used consumables, imaging equipment, parts and non-fibrous packaging.

Please note: We have changed the layout of our recycling page- If you are looking for a return label for empty toner bottles and cartridges, please scroll down to the Consumables Take Back Program at the bottom of the page

Illinois residents can recycle Ricoh products through the Illinois state e-waste recycling program. You can find more information and locations near you on the Illinois EPA Beyond the Bin Map. Or, you can take advantage of Ricoh's desktop Printer and Consumer Recycling Program at www.Ricoh-USA.com/recycling.

Under District of Columbia law, if you recently purchased a new covered Ricoh/ Savin/ Lanier electronic device you may return, any brand of a covered electronic device of the same type, for recycling through our program. Go to www.mrmrecycling.com for recycling details.

We encourage recycling of end-of-life consumables/supplies, and recommend that you use your local recycling resources whenever possible to reduce environmental impact. If local recycling is not available, you can easily return items through our Toner Cartridge/Container/Maintenance Kit Return Programs.

We have simplified our take-back capabilities so you can return your genuine Ricoh, Savin and Lanier toner containers using their own carton boxes, to help reduce CO2 impact and support our green initiatives. This program not only saves you time and money, but it helps the environment even more by eliminating the need for new box materials.

There are three different preparation methods for returning consumable items:

For cartridges that have UPS or FedEx shipping labels inside, remove the label from the box. Place the used cartridge in the box and tape the prepaid shipping label to the outside of the package. Please use the return instructions on the label.

Click on the button below to print a prepaid shipping label. Tape the label to the outside of the package, and follow the return instructions on the form. Please note: For the prepaid shipping label link to work properly, you must access it through this Ricoh page only.

When filling out the form to print the prepaid label to return the consumables, you need an EDP code.

EDP codes are product designations used to identify a specific consumable item for Ricoh, Savin and Lanier products. You can find the code on the label of the original carton box; in some instances, it can be found on the cartridge or container itself. If the box is unavailable or the cartridge/container is unmarked, please contact your supplier to obtain this information. Please note: You need only one EDP code per return, even if you are returning multiple cartridges in one box.

If your community offers recycling of equipment parts and non-fiber packaging materials, please use this option to minimize CO2 emissions associated with shipping. Alternatively, you can pack and ship items to us at your expense, using your preferred carrier, and we'll absorb the cost of recycling returned items. We cannot accept packages whose shipping costs are not paid by the sender. Here's what you can ship to us at the address listed below:

Deciding to recycle items is just the first step. You also want to make sure the items are recycled correctly. Below you will find common recyclables and related recycling information. For general tips on how to recycle correctly, visit Recycling 101.

Paper makes up 23 percent of municipal solid waste (trash) generated each year, more than any other material. Americans recycled about 68 percent of the paper they used in 2018. This recovered paper is used to make new paper products, which saves trees and other natural resources. Most community or office recycling programs accept paper and paper products. Check what your community or office program accepts before you put it in the bin. Look for products that are made from recycled paper when you shop. Better yet, consider if you really need to print in the first place.

Below are answers to frequently asked questions on paper and cardboard products. While general answers are provided, your local program may have different rules. Check with your local recycling program to learn if they accept these items.

If the book is still in good condition, try donating it! Schools, places of faith, charities, and non-profits will often accept book donations. If the book is not in usable condition, it can be recycled. Paperback books can be recycled as-is; remove the cover from a hardcover book before recycling it.

Paper gift wrap often is not recyclable when it has a shiny or laminated coating. If you use gift wrap, purchase a type that can be recycled or is made from recycled content. EPA encourages consumers to reuse gift bags, boxes, and tissue paper. Newspaper is an excellent alternative to gift wrap.

More than 35 million tons of plastics were generated in the United States in 2018 and only 8.7 percent was recycled. Some types of plastics are not accepted in community recycling programs. Check with your local recycling program to find out which types of plastic they accept. When possible, purchase products made from recycled plastic materials.

Below are frequent questions on plastic products. While general answers are provided, your local program may have different rules. Make sure to check with your local recycling provider to learn if they accept these items.

These items are recyclable, but they cannot go in your household recycling bin. Retail and grocery stores often accept these materials for recycling. If necessary, be sure to cut off the sealable zippers from sandwich bags before recycling them. Please ask your local grocery and department store, or visit the Earth911 to find a location near you that recycles plastic bags and plastic wrap/film.

It depends on what types of plastic the containers and cups are made of and whether your local program accepts them. Items with food debris cannot be recycled. Plastic utensils also cannot be recycled.
