Baby's Trip to China is a comedy film that is a sequel to the 1994 hit Baby's Day Out. The film follows the adventures of Baby Bink, who gets lost in China while on a vacation with his parents. Along the way, he encounters various obstacles and meets new friends, while being chased by three kidnappers who want to ransom him.
The film was released in 2023 and was directed by John Hughes, who also wrote the original film. The film stars Jacob Tremblay as Baby Bink, Jackie Chan as Mr. Lee, a friendly tour guide, and Steve Buscemi, Joe Pesci, and Daniel Stern as the kidnappers. The film was a box office success and received mixed reviews from critics.
The film begins with Baby Bink's parents, Laraine and Bennington Cotwell, planning a trip to China to celebrate their anniversary. They decide to take Baby Bink with them, despite the warnings of their nanny, Mrs. Sturak. They board a plane to Beijing, where they are greeted by Mr. Lee, their tour guide.
Mr. Lee takes them to their hotel, where they meet three men posing as hotel staff: Eddie, Norby, and Veeko. They are actually the same kidnappers who tried to abduct Baby Bink in the first film, and have followed him to China to get revenge and ransom money. They sneak into the Cotwells' room and grab Baby Bink, but he escapes from their grasp and crawls out of the window.
Baby Bink lands on a laundry cart and is taken away by a truck. He ends up in a busy market, where he causes chaos and steals a bicycle. He rides the bike through the streets of Beijing, dodging traffic and pedestrians. He eventually crashes into a panda costume shop, where he puts on a panda suit and wanders off.
The kidnappers follow Baby Bink's trail and try to catch him, but they encounter various mishaps and injuries along the way. They also have to deal with Mr. Lee, who suspects their true intentions and tries to stop them.
Baby Bink makes his way to the Forbidden City, where he meets a group of children who are on a school trip. He joins them and explores the palace, where he sees the Emperor's throne and crown. He decides to wear the crown and sit on the throne, but he is spotted by a guard who thinks he is an intruder. The guard chases him out of the palace, where he runs into Mr. Lee.
Mr. Lee recognizes Baby Bink and tries to take him back to his parents, but he is stopped by the kidnappers, who have disguised themselves as tourists. They snatch Baby Bink from Mr. Lee and run away with him. They head to the Great Wall of China, where they plan to call the Cotwells and demand a ransom.
However, Baby Bink manages to escape from them again and climbs up the wall. He meets a monk who is meditating on the wall and befriends him. The monk teaches him some martial arts moves and gives him a lucky charm.
The kidnappers catch up with Baby Bink and try to grab him, but he fights them off with his new skills. He also uses his lucky charm to summon a dragon that breathes fire at them. The dragon scares them away and flies away with Baby Bink.
The dragon takes Baby Bink to his parents, who are at the airport waiting for their flight back home. They are overjoyed to see him and hug him tightly. They also thank Mr. Lee, who has followed them to the airport and helped them find their son.
The film ends with Baby Bink waving goodbye to the dragon as it flies away into the sky.
