Attention all makers!!
We are happy to announce that Lamba Labs Beirut Hackerspace has been granted a joint license with TechnoFuture Lebanon and Kanj Workshop to host the first ever Beirut Mini Maker Faire!! This faire is a collaborative initiative with Make magazine (www.makezine.com) that allows all makers from across Lebanon and the MENA region to come together and celebrate all that has to do with making. It will be held on February 16th 2019 (venue is yet to be determined).
As is traditional with all Maker Faires (please check www.makerfaire.com), we are inviting all makers across Lebanon to participate at the event. This includes professionals, craftsmen, hobbyists, and NGOs. We are also outreaching to all major maker initiatives in Lebanon to become our community partners for the event. So for those interested please send us an email stating so.
Moreover, we will be holding regular Maker Meetups for the event. This is where you makers can come together and share your feedback on what we have planned as activities, exhibition corners, and workshops. You will also be telling us what you will be expecting from the event and proposing some workshop ideas that you would be interested in attending. This is in spirit of having the Maker Faire as interactive and as community driven as possible. We are planning to conduct such meetings in major cities/areas of Lebanon, including Beirut, Saida, Tripoli, Mount Lebanon, and Bekaa as follows:
- Beirut Makers Meetup #1: September 15th from 11am to 3pm, venue: Antwork Beirut
- Saida Makers Meetup #1: September 22nd from 11am to 3pm, venue: Antwork Saida
- Tripoli Makers Meetup #1: September 29th from 11am to 3pm, venue: TEC (Tripoli Entrepreneurs Club)
- Bekaa Makers Meetup #1: October 6th from 11am to 3pm, venue: TBD
- Mount Lebanon Makers Meetup #1: October 20th from 11am to 3pm, venue: Berytech Fab Lab
If you're a maker and would like to exhibit your work, we will be soon launching a "Call for Makers" application, so stay tuned!
Hope to see you at our meetups, and help us spread the word! Invite any maker you know to attend as well :)
Should you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
All the best,
