1) The Strange Loop conference will take place Sept 24-25th in St. Louis. Registration opens tomorrow (Thu Apr 12th at noon US Central time). Early bird registration is $375 till May 21st.
2) The Strange Loop CFP is open till May 11th, so please submit 20 and 50 minute talks! If you're on this list, there is a strong likelihood that your interests are good topics for Strange Loop. Strange Loop speakers receive admission, 3 nights of hotel, and (for full session speakers only) airfare.
3) Strange Loop keynotes include: Brendan Eich (JavaScript, Mozilla), Jeff Hawkins (Numenta, Palm, Handspring), and Michael Stonebraker (VoltDB, Postgres, etc). For more confirmed speakers, please check out the sessions page:
4) The Emerging Languages Camp will take place on the preconference day of Strange Loop, Sunday Sept 23rd. Alex Payne has been organizing this single-track camp for a few years at OSCON but it will be at Strange Loop for the first time this year. We have finalized a great list of talks for ELC:
- Michael Fogus: The Reemergence of Datalog
- James Noble: Grace: an open source educational OO language
- Brian McKenna: Roy
- Jeremy Ashkenas: Symbiotic Languages: Transpiling into JavaScript
- Ostop Cherkashin: Bandicoot: code reuse for the relational model
- Jose Valim: Elixir: Modern Programming for the Erlang VM
- Stefan Karpinski: Julia: A Fast Dynamic Language for Technical Computing

ELC is an optional pre-event at Strange Loop so you must register for both Strange Loop (early bird = $375) and ELC ($150) to attend.
Hope you can make it!
