Thanks Lucy!

What do you think about having lunch with the speakers after the talk? But it would be just for us, from the env com.

Carol.

Hi all,

Please see the attachment for proposed events for the committee next semester that came out of our last meeting.  Input is welcome from all of you!  We would like more committee members involved in various events and in roles that interest you.  Please volunteer yourself if one event particularly interests you!

Looks like it will be a fun semester!

Sorry guys!

I'm gonna be doing PAE fieldwork until January 19:(

Should we start thinking about organizing "the green week" next semester?

Good luck on your fieldwork Sue!

Dear all, the Dean cannot attend the event to make a sustainability pledge.  Should we invite someone else in his place to represent LKY and make a pledge?

Hi all,

Update on Jan 17 event:

  • Lunchtime talk:  One confirmed panelist, two to be confirmed
  • Moderator :  Any suggestions?
  • LKY pledge:  The Dean has been invited but is not able to attend.  Do you have any other suggestions of who can make a sustainability pledge instead of the Dean?

To-do:

  • Carol, can you arrange catering?  OES suggests having refreshments at a table near the booth they have set up at the canteen.  After the lunchtime talk, we can ask guests to go to the OES booth for the refreshments and to make a pledge.
  • Anna, can you help us with publicity for the event?  A flyer (for printing) and an email to be circulated.  We have one confirmed speaker, and potentially two others.  I will draft text for the flyer, etc.
That's it for now.

Sure, I can arrange catering. So it should be something simple, right? And for how many people? Maybe 50 (or less?)?

Carol.

Dear all,

For your input - see highlight.  Do we want him to join the panel?

       Panel discussion

a.       Amy will represent OES on the panel, while Ian will still be giving a short presentation on findings from the BTC energy audit beforehand. For Ian’s presentation, it will be a general energy profile and broad findings, given the (non-technical and more policy oriented) audience.

b.      Amy has a suggestion for the panellists – Dr Vincent Soh Chih Chong, Specialist with the Energy Market Authority, who looks at national energy policy and strategy and has prior experience at the Ministry of Trade and Industry and A*STAR. (EMA is a government agency.) Amy has not approached Vincent yet, as we wanted to check with you first. If you are ok with inviting Vincent, Amy will then ask him but with no promises that he will definitely be able to accept.

I think we should wait for the other panellist to confirm his attendance. Don't you think that 3 panellists would be too much?

Okay, I agree we can wait until the third panelist confirms but I think that OES won't have much to add once they have already given a presentation - which means that a third panelist would add value and new insight.

Right now - Ian will present audit findings and Amy will join the panel on behalf of OES.

I agree three might be too much, and maybe we want to keep other potential speakers for future events? I feel like we're throwing them all on this event, that is at the very beginning so we're not sure about how many people will come.

Dear all,

Here is the flyer for our event on the 17th.  OES will circulate to their network.  I will have LKY send it around.  Jan has connected me to the law students so I will send it to them as well.  Any other publicity ideas?

Also, we are setting up a meeting with OES's energy audit leads on Jan 15.  I'm setting the meeting between 2-5.  Hope some of you can join.  The topic of the meeting will be to see if our committee can create a joint report with OES to LKYSPP on the energy audit findings.
